Sunday arrived and we got the entire family into the car and headed to Lake Geneva. We drove the two hours to Lausanne and Ouchy, Switzerland (http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/destinations/resorts/holiday-destinations-in-switzerland/lausanne.html). This is a great city with a gorgeous church and lots of winding and beautiful streets. We ate at a wonderful restaurant in a funky part of the city. Joel loved running in the pedestrian streets. We walked around the city which is perched on the top of a mountain looking down on the lake. After wandering around, we headed down the mountain and to the lake.
The lake was gorgeous! I mean it sort of made you want to cry. It was unreal! There were cruise ships, sail boats and paddle boats. There was a beautiful park that surrounded the park. The park was a hive of motion due to the World Cup. The city had put up big screen TVs, so everyone was out and partying. It was great. We say the Olympic park and a gorgeous botanical garden.
On the way home, we just could not stop talking about how much fun we had! It was a great day!
