Geneva

Going back in time we'll try to catch up on our travels from the past months. We left off in the Beautiful town on Annecy in France...

...that night we stayed just over the border from Geneva in France (literally just over the border as our room overlooked the Swiss border crossing). We had a 2 BR apartment with kitchen, cable TV, balcony, etc. Can't beat it right? Well, no. The place was disgusting. Didn't feel clean at all (except luckily the sheets were fine). Carpet was gross. Broken closet door. Huge pile of dirty towels on the balcony. Not the best. But we made the most of a bad situation. Ross picked up some delicous Doner Kebab from down the street and we had a bottle of french wine and sat on the balcony watching fireworks over the rooftops at Lake Geneva. Then woke up early and got out of the hotel as quick as possible!

Geneva had probably the prettiest weather of the entire year. 85 and sunny. Perfect day to be at a lake with the alps behind. We did a tour in a tram/train like thing with the whole family! There was also an international fair where we sampled some of our favorite Chilean food...hot dogs with guacamole!

On the drive home, we decided to take the long way and take a small road that follows the lake rather than the motorway / autoroute / interstate / whatever you call it. This was a very good decision. We had the windows down and amazing views, adorable little towns, and neat castles (plus the HQ of UEFA) for an hour. Best drive in Switzerland yet. Even Joel was enjoying it.
