Joel turned two! He is so happy (especially now that he isn't sick like last week)! He is really being a big boy now and using better sentences (like this morning our dog slipped on a stair and Joel said "Sullivan slipped!"). And since he is such a big boy, his grandparents (Oma and Opa) gave him a new scooter! He talked about it all week when we mentioned his birthday coming. He really likes his scooter. Unfortunately, he doesn't love the helmet he has to wear when he plays with it...but luckily we saw his friends wearing helmets and that helped a lot! He also go several new books and a School Bus which he adores (he is obsessed with the fact you can open the door! And keeps saying "School Bus...open it!"). We also got phone calls and skypes (is that the right word?) from so many family and friends for Joel. It was really a great day. The day after his birthday we went to Gempen and had a hot chocolate with our neighbors and even ran into one of my co-workers. It was an amazing day (50F!) and Gempen has amazing views of the entire Basel-Rhine valley. We are really enjoying the relatively mild weather!
